To celebrate the launch of our Roger Dubuis Bucherer Blue Edition watches, the whole Blue Edition family was gathered at Zurich Aiport last week, the watches came in in conjunction with Lamborghini Squadra Corse, a partner of the watch brand.
The car is most celebrated for its technical features ; its 750-horsepower V12 engine, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and can reach a high speed of 350 km/h. More than just a car designed to match the Roger Dubuis watch, this vehicle is top of the range; the best that the world of sports cars has to offer. The matte blue nuance, Blu Kairos, which was developed exclusively for Bucherer, and the SVJ rims in Silver Dianthus make this dream car a fascinating, one-of-a-kind eye-catcher.
When it came time to design the equipment of this unique supercar, the experts at the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese as well as at the Bucherer Fine Jewellery atelier in Lucerne pulled out all the stops. The sensual driving experience starts when you take a look at the exclusive interior. The eye-catching backrests of the sophisticated Alcantara sport seats in the Blu Delphinus shade of dark blue are stitched with a dynamic pattern that prominently features the number 8 in blue thread as a homage to Bucherer 1888. All of the decorative stitching is in Grigio Cronus grey. Even the Blu Delphinus Alcantara foot mats with inserts are embellished with the Blue Editions logo, as is the carbon plaque fitted on the side of the vehicle.
One particularly distinctive feature is located between the backrests and pays homage to Roger Dubuis: exceptional decorative stitching depicting the contours of the exclusive Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S. Another highlight from the Bucherer Fine Jewellery atelier adds an extravagant touch: nothing could make starting the Aventador’s engine more thrilling than when your hand glides over the flap that is studded with blue gemstones and covers the start button. A total of 207 sapphires, to be exact, with a total weight of 7.47 carats adorn the black rhodium-plated flap in white gold. The experts spent 64 hours fine-tuning this detail alone, from the CAD drawing to crafting the button itself by hand in the goldsmith’s workshop, all the way to setting the gemstones in the atelier.
The price for the supercar is also record-breaking: the unique piece can be bought for CHF 600 600 (approx. £472,000) – at Lamborghini Zurich. Sheer luxury, exquisite craftsmanship and turned heads guaranteed.
The event also garnered a unique art piece from renowned American artist Kelsey Montague. Her art pieces are true show-stoppers that have already inspired countless people around the world to produce their own unique, interactive works of art on various social media as part of the #WhatLiftsYou campaign. For Bucherer, Kelsey is creating an exclusive mural for the pop-up space in her typical pen-and-ink style that incorporates elements of Bucherer itself as well as of the watches.
