Miami, FL (May 24, 2016) - BOVET 1822, the Swiss manufacturer of fine timepieces, broke new ground this year when Miami International Airport became the first U.S. airport to receive BOVET 1822 branded luxury wall clocks. The prestigious and historic Swiss House, now thriving under the guidance and ownership of Pascal Raffy, has gained acclaim for their unique timepieces defined by their convertible pocket watch form.

The distinguished red-gold toned wall clocks now hanging throughout the airport draw inspiration from BOVET’s famous Amadeo pocket watch style, accented with their distinctive magnificent arching bows. This novel concept, which was introduced in 2010 across the entire BOVET Fleurier collection, propelled BOVET to a new level of achievement as it allowed each timepiece to convert from a wristwatch to a pocket watch, table clock, or pendant without the use of any tools.

Miami International Airport makes the ideal location to showcase these stunning wall clocks, as it is the second-busiest international airport in the United States and boasts traffic of over 44 million passengers annually. South Florida is the home of BOVET 1822 North American headquarters and hub of all things luxurious, making it only natural that Miami and its airport, MIA, be the first site to launch the BOVET wall clocks.

“We are proud to welcome BOVET and their luxury wall clocks to MIA,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. González. “These elegantly crafted, world-renowned timepieces will further enhance the world-class appearance and passenger experience we strive for at MIA.”

About BOVET:

Since its foundation in 1822, BOVET has artfully combined the most sophisticated mechanisms with the finest craftsmanship, employing artisanal techniques such as gem-setting, engraving, and miniature painting.

Under the visionary guidance of Owner Pascal Raffy, BOVET acquired renowned Manufacture DIMIER 1738 in 2006 and immediately began producing the Maison’s movements, hair springs, and dials in-house. His passion for Haute Horlogerie also led to the introduction of the remarkable Amadeo® Fleurier convertible case system, which draws inspiration from the exquisite 19th century pocket watches produced by BOVET for the Chinese.

Today, BOVET demonstrates its excellence through varied collections that encompass models as emblematic and remarkable as the Braveheart®, OttantaSei and Shooting Star tourbillons, to name just a few of its icons.
