Alpina × The Real Time Show Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic

The Alpina × TRTS Seastrong Extreme Special Edition is a limited production model of just 300 pieces, designed by The Real Time Show podcast’s hosts Alon Ben Joseph and Rob Nudds. It will be released at 3 pm CET on November 27th 2025 as an online exclusive, with the first 50 units ready for Christmas delivery as long as the order is placed by December 15th.

This special edition model makes several changes to the established Seastrong design codes that follows the theme of The Real Time Show’s previous collaborations with Sherpa, Circula, and Straum. It prioritises excellent legibility while blending modern tool watch characteristics with an elegant dial finish that honours Alpina’s heritage.

Rugged, Readable, and Ready for Anything

Our conversation with Alpina began a couple of years ago, not long after The Real Time Show really started to gain traction,” says Rob Nudds, co-designer of this TRTS edition. “The show’s policy is simple: we only work with the brands we like and we love Alpina and what Oliver and the team have been doing in recent years. Personally, my favourite line has always been the Seastrong as I prefer hardy tool or dive watches able to stand up to the outdoor pursuits I enjoy, and as soon as we heard about the new, smaller case size, we put pen to paper. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to apply the TRTS treatment to this watch, focusing, as ever, on edgy, readable displays with strong contrast and that signature flash of colour.”

As is customary for TRTS editions, a vivid orange seconds hand stands out starkly against a more muted backdrop. In this case, the charcoal fumé dial has a finely particulated surface beneath a gloss layer of laquer. The wordmark and “Automatic” text is pad-printed in gloss black, disappearing from some angles to improve the contrast of the orange seconds hand and the pure white lume specially developed by Alpina for this project.

For the TRTS Community and Watch Lovers Around the World

The rehaut ring that features prominently in the core collection has been removed, widening the dial aperture and allowing for larger hour markers and an integrated minute track for improved to-the-second readibility. The matte black base of the ceramic bezel insert combines with the blackened periphery of the dial, while the raised gloss minute markings of the bezel nod to the gloss wordmark and automatic text, connecting the interior with the exterior.

Blackened hour and minute hand frames crisply border the bright white lume and create a clear distinction between the hands and the dark, moody dial. The brand’s lumed seconds hand counterpoise remains black to push the focus towards the elongated tip, which pops against the ever-shifting but never distracting dial texture.

Alon Ben Joseph says, “We wanted to make a watch that stayed on-brand for both Alpina and The Real Time Show but was sufficiently different from what has gone before so our community would have something new to obsess over. A lot of our listeners are Alpina owners already and when we told them we would be working with the brand, they were really excited. After a lot of conversations with them in The Real Time Network on WhatsApp as well as one-on-one discussions, we got a strong feeling of the direction in which we should travel. I’m really happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to see it on the wrists of many of our community members at our next get together in Amsterdam, London, or even further afield.”

Robust Performance and Versatile Wearability

Presented on a black rubber strap which connects visually to the knurled black grip of the crown, the watch has a tough and military-inspired appearance. Thanks to the recently redesigned proportions of the Alpina Seastrong case (now 39 mm in diameter, 12.65 mm in height, and 40.5 mm lug-to-lug), the watch offers a low-profile and compact wearing experience, suitable for most wrist sizes.

Says Oliver Van Lanschot Hubrecht, Director of Alpina“I am delighted to share the watch with our communities, and amazed at how it looks like a new interpretation of the Seastrong design. TRTS has been exceptionally special with the way Alon and Rob collaborate with their different backgrounds. I am truly impressed and inspired by the content and engagement with the TRTS community. This should be a winning collaboration on all levels!”
