Awake Mission To Earth Chapter 3 - "Time Travelers"

Who has not dreamed of seeing a meteorite streak through the sky ? Of discovering the crater formed by its impact on Earth ? Or simply of being able to touch an extraterrestrial stone that has fallen from the sky…Let’s close our eyes and go back in time. That’s where it all begins : the meteorite’s story, but also our story and that of our solar system.

With the third and final chapter of Mission To Earth - Time Travelers - we are going back in time to the origins of our solar system. A journey to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to understand meteorites, these fragments of asteroids that have traveled through space and time, revealing the formation of planets and life.

Reinventing the instrument and its purpose

Unveiled as a world premiere for the first chapter of Mission To Earth, the passive and contactless technology integrated in our sapphire glass provides access to unprecedented services and experiences, hosted and secured in the blockchain. Technology is used as a tool to raise consciousness, inviting us to rethink our relationship to time as well as the object that embodies it.

The digital double (NFT) associated with each watch gives its owner access to emotional and cognitive experiences that echo Awake's values. After observing the beauty of the Earth from the ISS cameras, we will, this time, give Time Travelers owners the opportunity to travel through space and time seeking out the meteorites in the Milky Way.

Muonionalusta [MɄ ˈǑːNIƆNALːƟSTA] : A fragment of eternity on the wrist

The Muonionalusta meteorite hit the Earth's surface more than a million years ago. Discovered in Sweden in 1906, it is believed to be the oldest meteorite known to date, 20 million years older than the Earth itself, making it the oldest object on our planet.

From this alien alloy impossible to reproduce on Earth, we have carved the dials of Time Travelers. A fragment of eternity on the wrist that puts into perspective the notion of time as well as our place in the universe.

Shaped by time, sculpted by man

When meteorites enter the atmosphere, they are marked with metallic patterns resulting from intense heating followed by rapid cooling. These mysterious scars, which collectors are particularly fond of, make each dial unique, as also do their reflections changing with the light.

The meteorite is cut into thin strips which are then polished to reveal the striations. A succession of delicate operations that explains, in addition to its scarcity, its very limited use in watchmaking.

Tomorrow’s titanium

Used in aeronautics and aerospace, our 70% recycled titanium offers performances strictly equivalent to those of a virgin material, while significantly reducing its environmental impact. Light, robust and waterproof, the Time Travelers case is perfectly adapted to all our life constraints. A real "tool watch", made for everyday use and built to last.

Widmanstätten pattern

Even lighter, more comfortable and resistant, the Time Travelers strap interprets our vision of manufacturing with minimal impact on the environment. The inner side of the strap features Widmanstätten pattern, the characteristic striations of iron meteorites.

Modified automatic caliber

Reputed for its reliability and ease of maintenance, the Japanese-made Miyota caliber offers a 42-hour power reserve and beats at a rate of 28,800 alternations per hour.

A particular attention has been given to the decoration of the rotor. Completely reworked, it offers meticulous finishes - polished bevels, brushed and sandblasted alternations, deep markings - and gives the whole a very technical aesthetic.

A multitude of evolutions, a preserved DNA

The case, dial, indexes, hands, case back and strap have been subtly revised to give Time Travelers its own identity through more horological codes, while maintaining a connection to the first two chapters of Mission To Earth.

Two limited editions of 500 pieces

Designed and assembled in France, each watch will be delivered in an exclusive box decorated with Widmanstätten's distinctive striations.

OSCAR Project

Seemingly silent, space is full of frequencies that the artist Stéphane Thidet has decided to capture to create the very first extra-terrestrial musical work. The sounds and vibrations collected will be transformed into a space symphony thanks to a partitioner and an organ installed on the ISS, to then come to life in the form of a series of concerts and choreographies played on Earth.

AWAKE wished to officially support the OSCAR project, whose purpose, halfway between arts and sciences, echoes the Mission To Earth project. The owners of the 3 chapters of this collection will thus benefit from exclusive content throughout the creation of the musical work.
