Awake Mission to Earth - Cosmos by Frank Sans C

Between Awake and Frank sans C, our first meetings in 2019 quickly turned into a friendship. Frank was one of the first to believe in the brand and its teams, to echo our values as well as our developments and technical innovations.

Mission to Earth - Cosmos symbolically marks the end of an exhilarating chapter linked to space, its immensity and the imagination it inspires, through an aventurine dial - which Frank is particularly fond of - imagined as a window onto a starry sky. A very exclusive model limited to 50 pieces.

Aventurine, myth and mystery

While its bewitching deep-blue appearance, dotted with sparkling inclusions, is reminiscent of the Milky Way, the history of aventurine is full of mystery and intrigue. Its etymology is said to derive from the word "aventure", itself taken from "all'avvenura", which means "fortuitous" or "by chance" in Italian, and for good reason.

The exact period of its creation, as well as the identity of the person who discovered it or perfected its manufacturing process, remain unclear, not to say unknown, shrouding aventurine in a veil of mystery. While some believe it dates back to ancient Egypt, the most common rumor is that it was discovered by chance in the 17th century on the island of Murano, near Venice, famous for its intricate glass-blowing techniques. It is said to have originated from a glassmaker's clumsy handling of copper filings in the traditional incandescent mixture of silica, soda and lime. As the material slowly cooled, it turned into glittering glass studded with golden glitter, producing a breathtaking visual effect.

The Miotti family, often cited as the originators of this discovery, are said to have kept it secret for a long time, preferring to let fables and legends spread far beyond the borders of the Serenissima in order to preserve the true manufacturing secret.

The genesis of aventurine is as mysterious and fascinating as the emotions felt when gazing into the deep midnight-blue dial with its hundreds of sparkling inclusions of this limited edition of 50.

A poetic aspect that stimulates the imagination

Aventurine's unique composition, striking contrasts and captivating vision make it the ideal material for the dial of this MISSION TO EARTH - COSMOS edition, imagined as a window onto a starry night sky. The dial's dark, intense blue contrasts with the hundreds of glittering, golden inclusions that give the whole thing the appearance of a precious stone.

This mysterious material has an evocative, even unsettling power, and, like meteorites for example, arouses the curiosity and interest of watch enthusiasts and collectors, most of whom remain eternal children.

Captivating, enchanting and enigmatic because of the mystery surrounding its composition, aventurine has a texture and depth that one could spend hours observing, halfway between technique and reverie, letting oneself be carried away into another world.

Its dazzling reflections make it the ideal poetic material to embody the face of this model, imagined as a last look towards a starry sky, definitively closing the MISSION TO EARTH collection, initiated over a year ago.

Exclusivity in every detail

Discreet, elegant and bewitching, MISSION TO EARTH - COSMOS combines resolutely contemporary design and materials with a mysterious, hypnotic and dazzling dial. A visual magic that works all the more easily because Frank and I chose to let the material express itself as much as possible. No index for absolute purity and beauty, underscored only by the hands floating as if weightless in the material. An assertive choice that gives it an even more expressive, mysterious and captivating character.

A bewitching, mysterious dial

A dial oscillating between blue and black, punctuated by a multitude of golden inclusions that sparkle like distant, dazzling stars.

Elegant hand-crafted leather strap

Smooth midnight-blue leather bracelet with tone-on-tone stitching, entirely handcrafted by Vietnamese artisans renowned for their luxury items. Distinguished and comfortable, it echoes the bewitching color of the dial and brings balance and elegance to this limited edition. The raw material used for your bracelet is certified to be of ethical and responsible origin.

Titanium casing

Used in aeronautics and aerospace, our 70% recycled titanium offers performance strictly equivalent to that of virgin material, while significantly reducing its carbon impact. Lightweight, sturdy and waterproof, the MISSION TO EARTH - COSMOS by Frank sans C case is perfectly adapted to all your life's constraints. A real everyday tool watch, built to last. Frank's wink to his subscribers: the famous motto "Even a stopped watch gives the right time twice a day" is engraved in the bezel.

Modified automatic caliber

Reliable and easy to maintain, the Japanese-made Miyota movement has a 42-hour power reserve and beats at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Completely reworked, the oscillating weight features particularly meticulous finishing - polished chamfers, micro-blasted-brushed alternations, deep markings - giving the whole a highly technical aesthetic.
