The highly acclaimed mechanical version of the Angles Mecaline collection is now adorned with a bezel and lugs set with 1.1 carats of diamonds. Presented in two colors — Deep Black and Warm Gray — it is paired respectively with black and maroon alligator leather straps, elegantly reinforcing the collection’s precious and contemporary character. Limited production: a few pieces per quarter.
Imagined by Sohaib Maghnam as a shape at once powerful and graceful, with an octagonal bezel set on an angled case middle and its stepped layers refined by a delicate interplay of finishes, the Angles collection has become one of the key pillars of Beda’a’s growth, embraced by collectors of all kinds – from first-time buyers to seasoned enthusiasts, women and men alike.
Today, this mechanical version is further enriched by a diamond-set line, produced in highly limited quantities, with only a few pieces crafted each year.
15 months of development…so that nothing had to change
It bears recalling that the development of the mechanical version required no less than fifteen months of meticulous adjustments to preserve the balance and proportions that define the Angles. The difference in thickness with the quartz model was thus limited to just 0.7 mm, thanks to a series of subtle refinements, including a slimmer bezel, dial and crystal, as well as a solid caseback. A new crown was also designed to accompany the hand-wound movement and ensure perfect handling in everyday use.
Reliability, ease of ownership – and a watchmaker’s touch
The mechanical movement chosen for the Angles is the ETA 7001 (offering approximately 42 hours of power reserve). This calibre is widely regarded for its reliability and ease of maintenance, underscoring its cost-effectiveness across the entire lifecycle of the watch. To visually distinguish the mechanical model from its quartz counterpart, the Angles Mecaline features a small second’s display at 6 o’clock.
It affirms the Angles’ horological identity and also serves as a reassuring sign of the watch’s proper functioning,” notes Sohaib Maghnam, CEO of Beda’a.
Purity preserved
True to the refined minimalism of the original Angles, the Mecaline dispenses with hour markers. It features a small second’s display at 6 o’clock, designed in sector style, with a semi-matte sunray or circular finish (depending on the model) on a glossy dial.
Two versions are available at launch in 37 mm: a black or taupe-grey dial, both fitted with a leather strap and pin buckle.
