Breitling - Navitimer 8 Collection

Breitling is launching the Navitimer 8 collection, the first to be developed under the new leadership of Georges Kern

Composed of five models, the new collection takes its name from Breitling’s Huit Aviation department, which, during the WWII years, worked exclusively on on-board chronographs for aircrafts. The "Huit" (8 in French) in the department name was a reference to the 8-day power reserve offered by most of these instruments.

Name apart, another evident inspiration for Breitling designers, especially for the design of the dial, was the historical 768 model produced in the 1940s.

The new Navitimer 8 collection includes two chronographs, a world timer, and the smaller-sized day-date and three-hand models.

All five new models are characterized by bi-directional bezels, powered by COSC-certified movements and water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet.

Breitling Navitimer 8 B01

The Navitimer 8 B01 is a three-counter chronograph with "panda" dial powered by the brand’s first-ever in-house developed and produced movement, the self-winding Calibre 01 beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of 70 hours.

The 43 mm case is available is stainless steel, with a choice of a black or a blue dial, or in red gold with a warm-toned bronze coloured dial.

While the steel versions can be matched to a leather strap or a metal bracelet, the gold model only comes with an elegant brown alligator strap. The pricing of the Navitimer 8 B01 in steel with leather strap will be Swiss Francs 7,100.

Breitling Navitimer 8 Unitime

A world time watch, the Navitimer 8 Unitime houses the same Calibre B35 equipping all of Breitling’s existing Unitime watches. This model features a patented independently adjustable hour hand as well as a 24-hour city ring integrated into the movement via a differential system.

Also featuring a 43 mm-diameter case, the Unitime is presented in stainless steel with a black or a silver dial.

Breitling Navitimer 8 Chronograph

Differently from the Navitimer 8 B01, the Navitimer 8 Chronograph does not feature a manufacture movement, rather the Calibre B13 based on the highly reliable and super-tested 4 Hz (28,800 vph) ETA-Valjoux 7750 offering 42 hours of power reserve. This model displays day and date indications.

The 43 mm case is offered in stainless-steel or in DLC-coated stainless-steel with black or blue dials.

Breitling Navitimer 8 Day & Date

The Calibre 45, constructed using the ETA 2834 as a base, is the movement of choice for the Navitimer 8 Day & Date, whose dial prominently displays the day of the week at 12 o’clock and the date at 6 o’clock.

For this model the stainless steel case is appropriately smaller at 41 mm. The dial is available in black or blue.

Breitling Navitimer 8 Automatic

41 mm is also the diameter of the Navitimer 8 Automatic, the simplest of the five new watches. Powered by the Calibre 17, based on the ETA 2824, this automatic model comes in stainless steel with the options of black or blue dial and leather strap or metal bracelet.

The new models of the Navitimer 8 collection with be on sale in May/June 2018. More details on pricing will be announced at a later time. breitling.com
