Chopard L.U.C Quattro

As a preview of its Baselworld 2018 novelties, Chopard introduces a new interpretation of its classy L.U.C Quattro timepiece where the elegant rose gold case is matched to a silver-toned and vertical satin-brushed dial swept over by a set of blued hands.

The nine-day power-reserve display at 12 o’clock is counter-balanced by the subdial at 6 o’clock containing both small seconds and a pointer-type date indication. Its graduations have been refined and simplified.

The minute circle is punctuated by two large 3 and 9 o’clock Arabic numerals, and by blued applied hour-markers. Their shape is an extrapolation of the Dauphine-fusée type hands typical of the L.U.C collections, enhanced in this instance with Super-LumiNova.

Water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the 43 mm case features a satin-brushed caseband with a polished bezel.

The hand-engraved back case showcases the hand-wound movement, the COSC-certified L.U.C Calibre 98.01-L beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offering 9 days of power reserve thanks to four barrels (hence the name Quattro which is the Italian for the number Four).

The unconventional strap, made of woven-effect blue calfskin leather with an alligator leather lining, completes the contemporary style of the watch.

The “Poinçon de Genève” certification remarks the overall quality of the new Chopard L.U.C Quattro (ref. 161926-5004), a 50-piece limited edition with a retail price of Euro 23,300. chopard.com
