Edox SkyDiver Neptunian Orange Dial

Nearly 50 years ago, boutique Swiss watchmaker Edox launched the legendary SkyDiver, a rugged sports timepiece created especially for a military elite group. Now, with the release of the SkyDiver Neptunian, Edox gives its 1973 watch classic a thoroughly modern makeover while still staying true to its historic legacy.

Water-resistant to an incredible 1,000 meters, the SkyDiver Neptunian is built ultra-tough to handle not only the pressures of the deep but, thanks to its strong and durable stainless-steel case, anything on the surface as well. A 3mm-thick sapphire crystal protects the classic, clean dial encircled by a ceramic bezel. The case back features a striking engraving of Neptune, the Roman God of the Sea.

You’ll have no problem reading the time in low light – or under water – thanks to the SkyDiver Neptunian’s SuperLuminova X1-coated hands and indices. To enhance even more the readibility, the new dial is coloured in orange, one of the most visible colors below water. The built-in helium escape valve guarantees the SkyDiver Neptunian’s Automatic Calibre 80 movement, with its 42-hour power reserve, won’t miss a beat even after being deep beneath the waves.

The SkyDiver Neptunian is the natural evolution of a timeless classic and another striking addition to the Edox family of Water Champions timepieces.

Edox - SkyDiver

Rumoured to be launched following a Swiss colonel secret request in 1973, the SkyDiver collection pays tribute to paratroopers and the extreme conditions they might face - on land, air or sea. Displaying a vintage military look, the SkyDiver is a reliable timepiece protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a stainless steel case. Highly water-resistant, the SkyDiver will remain readable at such depth thanks to a high standard of night visibility on watches – Superluminova X1 – which covers its hands and indexes. Whether its origin is fact or fantastic, the SkyDiver is a truly hand-assembled timepiece ready to face real adventures.

Like time itself, Swiss boutique watchmaker Edox never stands still. Founder Christian Ruefli-Flury was driven by his heart when, in 1884, he made a pocket watch for his beloved wife Pauline’s 25th birthday. Delighted, she convinced him to set up his own company – Edox. Over the decades Edox has forged a reputation as the ‘‘water champion’’ of the watch world, creating world-leading divers’ watches.

Ruefli-Flury would no doubt be amazed and honoured how his legacy has flourished over the past 135 years. One of the few remaining family owned Swiss watchmakers, Edox proudly acknowledges its heritage but also embraces innovation and imagination in its collections. Today, Edox is known for its highly water-resistant timepieces, complex hand-polished watch cases and traditional hand assembling.
