EsperLuxe Announces Exclusive Collaboration with De Bethune: The DB27 “Night Hawk”

EsperLuxe is proud to unveil its latest special project collaboration with one of the most revered names in contemporary independent watchmaking: De Bethune. Introducing the DB27 “Night Hawk,” a special project that embodies the shared values of innovation, craftsmanship, and forward-thinking design that define both partners.

Created in close collaboration with master watchmaker Denis Flageollet and his team, the DB27 “Night Hawk” reflects a clear and focused vision: to capture the essence of De Bethune’s unique approach to horology. The result is a timepiece that is at once futuristic, artisanal, and technically sophisticated. This is an expression of the brand’s focus on titanium watchmaking, crafted at its highest level.

The DB27 “Night Hawk” introduces several firsts for the DB27 collection. Most notably, it features De Bethune’s first-ever production matte flame-blued titanium “short” floating lugs, paired with a polished and brushed grade-5 titanium case measuring 43mm in diameter and just 9mm in thickness. The mid-case is adorned with a microlite decoration, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to both aesthetic refinement and technical detail.

At the heart of the watch lies a striking dial: the first titanium flame-blued “Starry Sky” motif ever seen on a DB27. A signature of De Bethune, this celestial display is not merely decorative – it maps the night sky corresponding to the date and place marking the beginning of the partnership between EsperLuxe and De Bethune in 2021.

Surrounding the dial is a chapter ring with Roman numerals, complemented by a minute track with Arabic numerals along the outer edge. Two-tone, mirror-polished blued hands complete the display, offering exceptional legibility and a distinctive visual identity.

Powering the DB27 “Night Hawk” is the in-house, self-winding Caliber AUTOV2, visible through a sapphire caseback. This modern movement delivers a 60-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 4Hz. It incorporates De Bethune’s patented technologies, including a titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts, designed to optimize performance against temperature variation and air resistance, as well as the brand’s proprietary “DB” balance spring with a flat terminal curve.

The watch is presented on a blue fabric strap with a titanium buckle and is accompanied by a bespoke Alex Crown bespoke strap, underscoring the exclusivity of the project.

Limited to just 10 pieces and 1 prototype. Retail price of $70,000.
