Fears Launches New Pilots Watches Alongside Pastel Colours on Core Redcliff and Jump Hour

Today the Fears Watch Company, a leading British luxury watch company, launches its first pilots watches in 180 years. These classically styled aviator watches are named after the town, next to Bristol, that was home to the historic Bristol Aeroplane Company and where the British components for Concorde were made. Launching alongside them are three new Redcliff references with stylish pastel-coloured dials and a new Brunswick Jump Hour with a dial inspired by traditional Stoke-on-Trent pottery.

Joining the core collection are the Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’, Redcliff 39.5 ‘Pastel Collection’ and the Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour ‘China Blue’, each offering a distinct interpretation of the Fears design language. The Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’ pairs classic aviation cues with modern refinement, introducing the first date complication to the Brunswick 40mm family across Raven Black and Squadron Green dials. The Redcliff 39.5 ‘Pastel Collection’ presents a contemporary, fresh and approachable entry point to the Fears range with pastel dials in Sherbet Yellow, Soft Peach, and Pale Lilac. Completing the trio, the Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour ‘China Blue’ reimagines one of Fears’ most distinctive models with a multi-level blue-and-white dial inspired by classic Stoke-on-Trent pottery.

Commenting on the new launch, Nicholas Bowman-Scargill, (4th) Managing Director of the Fears Watch Company, says:

For Fears, this year feels deeply significant. We are marking ten years since the revival of the brand, and at the same time honouring 180 years since it was first founded in Bristol in 1846. That dual perspective with one eye on our heritage and the other firmly on the future has very much shaped these new releases. I’m pleased how these new references demonstrate the strength and versatility of the Fears design langue that we’ve worked unreservedly to establish these past 10 years.

When I revived Fears, it was always with the intention of building a truly enduring British watch company, one that respects its past but is not constrained by it. With these new core models, we wanted to introduce something that feels modern, confident and accessible within the collection, while still embodying the refinement, quiet elegance and sophistication that define Fears.

With these new core models, we wanted to introduce something that feels modern, confident and accessible within the collection, while still embodying the refinement, quiet elegance and sophistication that define Fears.

The Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’ is leading our expansion into sportier models within the core collection. It combines clean lines with practical, everyday wearability, while still reflecting the brand’s attention to detail. The Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour ‘China Blue’ shows another side of what we do, taking classic forms and revising them with subtle confidence and a distinctly British character. At the same time, the Redcliff 39.5 ‘Pastel Collection’ captures a sense of delight, using colour to express optimism and individuality, but always within a framework of restraint and timeless design.

Launching these pieces ahead of Watches and Wonders in Geneva, at a time when the global watch community feels especially energised, makes the moment all the more meaningful. For us, these watches are not just new additions; they represent the continued evolution of Fears; thoughtful, deliberate and rooted in longevity. Our aim has always been to create watches that feel relevant today, but that will still be cherished and worn with pride decades from now that proudly carrying my family’s name on the dial.”

Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’

With the Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’, Fears explores the classic aviator’s watch through a distinctly contemporary lens, drawing inspiration from the pioneering spirit of early flight and Bristol’s historic association with aviation. Named after Filton, the historic home to the Bristol Areoplane Company, the watch subtly nods to a moment in history when the first aviators took to the skies, capturing that sense of precision, purpose and quiet bravery.

Highly legible and confidently restrained, the Filton introduces the first-ever date complication within the Brunswick 40mm line, positioned discreetly at six o’clock.

Two dial variants frame the design: Raven Black, a deep, pure black sunburst evoking the disciplined clarity of cockpit instruments, and Squadron Green, a matte gradient inspired by the Royal Air Force and the ombré tones of vintage squadron markings. Both feature applied numerals in Fears’ own bespoke ‘Edwin’ typeface and a bold triangle at twelve. The time is displayed using sword-shaped versions of the classic Fears ‘pipette’ hands and on the Raven Black dial feature a ‘ghost’ effect with matching black hand centres.

Powered by the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic calibre and presented on a chocolate brown buffalo leather strap with contrasting ivory stitching, the Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’ balances heritage cues with modern utility. It is a purposeful, highly legible timepiece that honours Filton’s aeronautical legacy while reinforcing the Brunswick’s central role within the Fears collection.

Redcliff 39.5 ‘Pastel Collection’

The Redcliff 39.5 ‘Pastel Collection’ embraces colour as a confident and welcoming expression of the brand today. Designed as an accessible entry point into the world of Fears, it brings a sense of lightness and individuality while maintaining the refinement and balance that defines the collection.

The range features three matte-lacquer pastel dials; Sherbet Yellow, Soft Peach and Pale Lilac, each selected for its distinct tone, character and emotional resonance. Realised as a non-date watch for perfect symmetry, the applied batons are coated in matte white varnish with a complementing chapter ring with luminous minute numerals to aid telling the time with the luminous ‘pipette’ shaped hands.

These new Redcliffs are powered by the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic calibre, offering a 68 hour power reserve enhancing the everyday wearability of the watches. Each watch is paired with a soft Alcantara® strap, colour-matched to its chapter ring, while also available on a 3-link stainless steel bracelet with on the go micro-adjust.

Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour ‘China Blue’

Following on from the success of the ‘Barleycorn Plum’ launched summer 2025, this refined Jump Hour design is evolved with a calm ‘China Blue’ colour way. The watch features a three-dimensional barleycorn pattern across the outer dial, coated in pure silver for a bright white appearance. The centre dial featured a matte lacquer disc in a refined shade of China Blue inspired by the iconic pottery from Stoke-on-Trent.

The jump-hour display at twelve o’clock presents the hour through a crisp, framed aperture, balanced at six o’clock by a finely brushed plate set within the barleycorn pattern, discreetly carrying the Fears signature. A single, rhodium-plated hand traces the minutes with clarity, creating a display that is precise, classic, and elegantly minimal.

Inside, the watch is powered by the Christopher Ward JJ01 jump-hour module, built atop a Sellita SW200 base, delivering the instantaneous hour jump every sixty minutes with satisfying precision. The 40.5mm brushed and polished stainless steel case frames the dial with subtle authority, its gently curved profile designed for comfort on the wrist. The case is fitted with a display case back, revealing the decorated movement and the signature Fears blue rotor with the iconic Bristol Flower motif. The watch is available on a storm grey Alcantara® strap, or a five-link stainless steel bracelet.
