Furlan Marri Red Hunter

To mark its fourth anniversary, Furlan Marri unveils a new timepiece that reflects the brand’s evolution—blending vintage inspiration with modern refinement. Founders Andrea Furlan and Hamad Al Marri introduce their first 36mm watch with a hinged caseback, the Red Hunter Anniversary Piece, a nod to historic hunter-case pocket watches and officer-style wristwatches.

A hunter case design: bridging tradition and modernity

This design pays homage to timepieces popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly among hunters, equestrians, and military officers who required durability and legibility. The influence of hunter-case pocket watches is unmistakable—historically featuring protective covers over the glass, later adapted into wristwatches for officers.

Crafted from stainless steel, the 36mm case showcases alternating polished and brushed finishes, emphasizing Furlan Marri’s commitment to detail. The double caseback enhances durability while maintaining a refined aesthetic. Additionally, its 100-meter water resistance ensures everyday versatility.

Opening the caseback via a discreet side notch reveals two details highlighting the anniversary: a special anniversary engraving and a sapphire crystal displaying a newly designed oscillating weight plated in rose gold.

Precision and performance: the G100 movement

Powering this anniversary edition is the G100 automatic movement by Manufacture La Joux-Perret, previously featured in Furlan Marri’s Cornes de Vaches collection. Made in La Chaux-de-Fonds, this self-winding movement has a tungsten rotor for optimal weight distribution and smooth rotation. A first for Furlan Marri, the rotor now features a rose gold 4N coating.

With a robust 68-hour power reserve and precision control of +/-7 seconds per day, the movement boasts the same high-end finishing seen in the Cornes de Vaches, including Geneva stripes, snailing, blued-steel screws, and the engraved inscription: Furlan Marri, crafted with care, designed for details.

A dial with depth and distinction

The watch introduces a new dial design that plays with depth and light through its carefully sculpted contours. The unique curved indexes, nearly imperceptible from above, reveal their curvature when viewed from an angle—showcasing Furlan Marri’s meticulous attention to detail. The three hands are domed and include a distinctive red seconds hand.

Introducing an integrated bracelet

Furlan Marri presents, for the first time, an integrated stainless-steel bracelet designed by Andrea and Hamad. The watch also includes two additional French leather straps—one black with red stitching and one in cream—offering versatility in wear.

Key milestones

Reflecting on their journey, Andrea and Hamad highlight four defining moments:

  • 2021: Launching on Kickstarter—reaching the funding goal in just 35 seconds with the Mechaquartz.
  • GPHG Revelation Prize: Winning this prestigious award six months after the brand launch in 2021.
  • The Secular Perpetual Calendar: From concept to prototype in one year, introducing a patented complication for Only Watch. (This piece went under the hammer for CHF 130,000, 6.5 times the estimate).
  • The Disco Volante: A project that redefined movement storytelling, integrated hand-finishing, and embodied Furlan Marri’s core values— heritage, accessibility, and modernity.

Looking ahead: the next chapter for Furlan Marri

With an unwavering vision, Furlan Marri continues to refine its three key collections: Mechaquartz, Mechanical, and Technical. The brand aims to push technical innovation further while maintaining accessibility in complications.

A strengthened retail presence, expansion into new markets, and two dedicated showrooms will extend the Furlan Marri story in the watchmaking world. As the brand grows, it remains committed to fostering its team in Geneva and the Middle East.

A heartfelt thanks
