Isotope Mercury Fire Horse Marquetry — Piece Unique

A one-of-one handmade creation by Bernardo d’Orey, one of the finest micro-marquetry straw artisans working today.

Created for the Isotope Mercury case, this unique dial reflects the Year of the Horse and the element of Fire: movement, strength, instinct, energy, and transformation.

The dial is composed of 100 microscopic straw pieces, each individually selected, cut, shaped, and placed entirely by hand. The work is exceptionally difficult, demanding absolute control, patience, and an eye for color that feels almost painterly.

Straw marquetry is slow, precise, and unforgiving. Every fragment reacts to light in its own way, creating a living surface that changes continuously as the watch moves. On the Mercury, the sculpted case and clean geometry provide the perfect frame for Bernardo’s work, allowing the dial to become the focal point without losing the unmistakable Isotope character.

This is not a limited edition. It is a piece unique.
