IWC - Portugieser Automatic and Portugieser Chronograph Blue
IWC presented two of its most popular Portugieser models - the Portugieser Automatic and the Portugieser Chronograph - with super-trendy blue dials, a colour that is now very popular but that IWC used for its watches since 1960's.
The Portugieser Automatic (Ref. IW500710) comes in a 42.3 mm x 14.2 mm stainless-steel case which, just like the rhodium plated hands and numerals, provides a perfect contrast to the deep blue of the dial.
The watch is driven by the IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre featuring the renowned Pellaton automatic winding system generating a 7-day power reserve in two barrels.
The display at 3 o’clock indicates the energy remaining at any given time and is visually balanced by the small seconds subdial positioned at 9 o’clock. Price: Euro 12,900.
The Portugieser Chronograph (Ref. IW371491) is one of the most famous IWC watches ever produced but this is the first time that it is available with a blue dial. With a look based on the timeless design of the Portuguese watches from the 1930s, this timepiece has a diameter of 40.9 mm and it is 12.5 mm thick.
The movement is the self-winding Calibre 79350 beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 44 hours. Price: Euro 7,700.
Both watches are water resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet. iwc.com
