Junghans - Meister Chronoscope Edition SC

German watchmaker Junghans released two limited models of the Meister Chronoscope with anthracite dials and sapphire crystals in place of hard plexiglass.

Characterized by balanced proportions and mechanical movements, the new Meister Chronoscope Edition SC - where SC stands for Sapphire Crystal - feature domed dials with bowl-shaped subdials protected by sapphire crystals whose doming emphasises the elegance of the timepieces while offering greater scratch resistance and durability than the hard plexiglass otherwise used.

This way, the Schramberg-based watchmaker enhances these popular models without altering their appreciated and classic design. To optimise the refraction of the sapphire crystal the glass has anti-reflection coating on both sides and is sealed with a hard coating.

The readability of the indications is further enhanced by hands with environmentally-friendly Super-LumiNova luminous material.

The 40.7 mm case is water resistant to 3 bar and available in stainless steel or in stainless steel with PVD coating. The total height is 13.9 mm.

The Junghans Meister Chronoscope Edition SC is equipped with the J880.1 automatic calibre (base Valjoux 7750) beating at 28,800 vph and offering up to 48 hours of power reserve. Visible through the 5-times screwed glass back, the movement is finished with rhodium plating, blued screws, rotor with stripe finishing and engraved logo.

For the first time, the new models are also fitted with leather straps with folding clasps.

The Junghans Meister Chronoscope Edition SC in stainless steel (ref. 027/4725.02) has a price of Euro 2,040 and is limited to 200 pieces while the stainless steel version with PVD coating (ref. 027/7720.02) has a price of Euro 2,140 and is limited to 100 pieces. junghans.de
