Konstantin Morzo Russian Art "Rye"

Introducing the "Rye" watch, a horological canvas where time meets high art. Its centerpiece is a miniature hand-embroidered picture, a first for Russian watchmaking, achieving extraordinary visual depth. This unique dial technique transforms the act of reading time into an appreciation of fine artisanal craftsmanship.

Key Features and Artistic Execution

Mechanical wristwatches by Konstantin Morozov, a watch enthusiast and self-taught master. The "Rye" model, part of the "Russian Art" collection, is an example of a mechanical time-reading instrument framed in a classic stainless steel case and set on a genuine leather strap.

From the very beginning of its design, this model emphasized traditional artisanal decorative techniques, some of which are being applied to Russian-made wristwatches for the first time.

An unprecedented visual depth was achieved in the dial's execution. Slightly elevated at its center is a hand-made picture created using the satin stitch embroidery technique. It depicts a country road receding into the distance through a field of ripe rye ears. On the midday horizon, majestic pine trees stand still against a calm, blue sky.

The frame for this miniature picture is a brass border featuring hand-executed jewelry engraving with elements that harmoniously complement the scene. The case, with its golden PVD coating and onion-shaped crown, maintains this idyllic appearance, yet conceals the other side of the story.

The Heart of the Watch: A Movement Like a Casket of Gems

The Morzo Chaika ST36.RG manual-winding movement, with its bridges detailed with hand-executed jeweler's engraving, blued screws, and glittering watch jewels, is like a carved casket of gems from Pushkin's fairy tales. It can be admired through the transparent case-back of the watch.

Strap and Presentation: Echoing the Russian Landscape

The watch is secured by a bicolor artisanal strap made from ostrich and crocodile leather. The upper part, crowned by the buckle, is azure-sky blue, continuing the perspective of the painting by symbolizing the sky. The lower part, the color of fresh pine needles, extends the image of the fertile Russian Mother Earth.

As befits a work of art, watches from the "Russian Art" collection are sold packaged in a wooden picture frame with a velvet two-level passe-partout and separated from the observer by clear museum glass.
