Kudoke 3 'Flakes'

New dial variant for Kudoke 3: Craftsmanship meets extraordinary Time Display

Weifa, 21st of March 2025 – Independent German watch manufacturer Kudoke is expanding its award-winning Kudoke 3 model with a new dial variant. It will be shown for the first time at the AHCI Masters of Horology exhibition in Geneva from March 31 to April 5, 2025. This special version features a hand-engraved upper dial with a polished bevel, available in either yellow gold plating or white rhodium finish.

Originally introduced in 2023 as part of the Handwerk collection, the Kudoke 3 continues the tradition of unique craftsmanship. Its salmon-colored version was awarded the prestigious GPHG Petite Aiguille Prize last year. This newly presented edition further emphasizes Kudoke’s distinctive style with a dial design that balances aesthetics with artistic refinement.

Unconventional display of time

The Kudoke 3 offers a unique approach to time display. While the minutes are traditionally indicated by a large, blued steel hand on the upper dial ring, the hours are displayed on a three-section plate set on the lower dial level.

An extraordinary three-armed hand moves between the dial levels to indicate the hours. It skillfully shifts between the scales, displaying hours 2, 6, and 10 twice before the active arm moves forward. This fascinating mechanism merges simplicity with intricate sophistication.

Finest Details

Hand engraving has been an essential part of Kudoke’s DNA from the very beginning, and this tradition is masterfully continued with the new dial variant. The artistic engraving of the upper dial and the meticulously polished bevel create an exceptional depth and refinement. The engraving technique, which we call “Flakes,” involves gradually carving out tiny flakes of material. This handcrafted process requires not only the utmost precision but also significant time, making each dial a unique work of art. In addition to the "Flakes" engraving, other engraving techniques and custom motifs are also available upon request, allowing for further personalization of the watch.

The upper dial, with its gently flowing wave pattern, perfectly harmonizes with the silver-plated hour plate below. Diamond-cut edges on the hour plate, logo plaque, and minute ring create a captivating play of light, while the infinity symbol – a hallmark of the Handwerk collection – appears both at the tip of the minute hand and at the 60-minute position on the ring.

Like its predecessors, the new variant is framed by a discreet 39 mm stainless steel case with a classic onion crown. With a case height of 10.3 mm, it achieves the perfect balance of elegance and wearability. At its heart, the KALIBER 1 movement is visible through the sapphire case back, showcasing the highest level of watchmaking expertise. Each watch is meticulously handcrafted, emphasizing the true artisan nature of this timepiece – a testament to dedication and masterful craftsmanship.
