L’Epée 1839 and Bucherer have collaborated to craft a timepiece in the shape of a kinetic race car sculpture. In its design of a 50s classic single-seater race car, Time Fast embodies what childhood dreams are made of. The mechanical motor of the timepiece is wound like a pull-back toy car, powering the engine with a tiered movement that was fitted to the shining BLUE bodywork.
The Time Fast table clock is shaped like a single-seater race car from a bygone era. The cigar-shaped body and exposed wire wheels are reminiscent of the early post-war Grand Prix and Formula 1 cars. The body panels are made of aluminium, and hand-finished with automotive lacquer in signature Bucherer BLUE with white “go-faster” racing stripes. The grill and wheels are finished in blue as well, and there’s a pair of exhaust tips sticking out the back. The right-hand side of the car reveals a plaque with the engraved logos of L’Epée and Bucherer BLUE.
The time is visible on the left-hand side of the car. The two black and white cylinders for the hours and minutes rotate as time progresses. The entire movement is made in-house by L’Epée and is wound by pulling back the car similar to a friction toy car.
