Lederer Inverto Titanium 39mm

Two years after the debut of the first Inverto, Bernhard Lederer introduces a new interpretation in titanium: lighter, more refined, and designed with a quiet sense of purpose. The Inverto Titanium continues a line of work defined by precision engineering, architectural transparency, and a deep respect for traditional chronometry.

For Bernhard Lederer, each creation begins as a study in balance, between aesthetics and performance, tradition and innovation. Every component is reconsidered, every function refined, until movement and form achieve a natural harmony. The Inverto Titanium embodies this approach: a mechanical construction stripped of excess, revealing the essential language of its craft.

Revealing the invisible

Its inverted architecture exposes what is usually hidden, the complete choreography of the movement in motion. Gears, springs, and twin remontoirs are set in open dialogue, their rhythm transforming pure mechanics into a visual experience.

The concave titanium case, shaped to follow the wrist, reflects the watch’s technical clarity through an equally thoughtful design language. Every curve and surface has been adjusted by hand in Lederer’s Neuchâtel manufacture to achieve both comfort and continuity of line.

Titanium, reimagined

For the first time, titanium becomes central to the Inverto. Light, resilient, and demanding to finish, it reveals every nuance of the craftsman’s touch. Each element is polished entirely by hand, its reflections shifting from soft satin to mirror polish, an interplay of light that underscores the precision of the work.

The soul of the independent manufacture

We are among the very few in contemporary watchmaking to craft our timepieces entirely in-house, a rare privilege that reflects our unwavering dedication to excellence.

Over the past two decades, our manufacture has evolved into a refined ecosystem, purpose-built around our creations. Every process, from conception to adjustment, is carried out with uncompromising precision and a genuine joy of creation, the same spirit that drives each new idea to life.

Within the manufacture, more than ninety-eight per cent of the movement’s components are conceived, produced, and adjusted under one roof. This degree of independence enables complete control over function and finish, and allows every idea to be tested, questioned, and refined without compromise.

Without my own manufacture and laboratory, it would be impossible to question, test, and refine each idea. Observation and experimentation are the foundation of progress.” - Benhard Lederer.

The new Calibre 9019: a symphony of precision

At the heart of the Inverto Titanium lies Calibre 9019, a dual detent escapement served by a double constant-force remontoir visible from both sides of the movement. Every fifteen seconds, two synchronised systems release stored energy in perfect unison, maintaining stable torque from the first wind to the last. By revisiting the Gafner principle and reducing unlocking resistance to its minimum, Lederer achieves an exceptional constancy of power delivery, a refinement that serves both precision and longevity.

The coordination of the two remontoirs, regulated by a central metronome, produces the steady fifteen-second cadence that defines the watch’s character. This rhythm: quiet, exact, and continuous, gives the Inverto Titanium its unmistakable identity.

The geometry of the remontoir system has been completely re-engineered, representing an evolution that connects centuries of horological research with modern construction.

A secret dialogue within the movement

Turning the watch reveals an architectural engraving inspired by the structure of the movement. Beneath it, a small second hand traces its path in harmony with the remontoir’s cycle: a discreet reminder of the mechanism’s living tempo. This hidden detail is typical of Lederer’s approach: technical sophistication presented with restraint, rewarding those who look closely.

Each Inverto Titanium is assembled, regulated, and finished by hand within Bernhard Lederer’s own workshops. Production is deliberately limited, not as an for creating artificial scarcity, but to ensure that every piece reflects the same degree of attention and understanding. From concept to final adjustment, each watch represents months of patient work guided by mechanical logic and the sensibilities of a craftsman.

With the Inverto Titanium, Bernhard Lederer continues to explore how traditional mechanisms can evolve in contemporary form. It is a watch that speaks through proportion, precision, and clarity: a pure expression of mechanical time.

About Bernhard Lederer

Next year marks 40 years of Bernhard Lederer’s journey in watchmaking, four decades devoted to exploring the meeting point between mechanical artistry and horological excellence.

A founding member of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI), Lederer belongs to the first generation of independent masters who redefined contemporary horology through authenticity, innovation, and handcraft.

Known as a true Master of Escapements, he has spent his career rethinking the way energy flows through a mechanical movement. His Central Impulse Chronometer (CIC), awarded twice for its exceptional innovation and chronometric performance, stands as one of the most accomplished modern expressions of George Daniels’ legacy and independent engineering excellence.

His work unites German rigor and Swiss discipline with a distinctly human sense of artistry, a balance between mechanical truth and emotional beauty. Each creation is the result of reflection, patience, and an unshakable devotion to the purity of timekeeping.

With the Inverto Titanium, Bernhard Lederer celebrates this lifelong vision a watch that beats not only with precision but with soul, offering its beholder the rare privilege of witnessing time transformed into a living work of art.
