MeisterSinger Pangaea Day Date 365
MeisterSinger’s extraordinary Pangaea Day Date watch in a new, nostalgic design.
A piece of history
Since 2001, MeisterSinger has manufactured unique, single-hand mechanical watches at its base in Münster, Westphalia, Germany. Founder, designer, and managing director Manfred Brassler thus creates his timepieces with the technical and cultural tradition of early watchmaking in mind. It is not commonly known that up to the 18th century, all tower and table clocks as well as pocket watches showed the time with just one single hand.
Multiple award-winning model
The Pangaea Day Date has been a reliable part of the MeisterSinger collection for more than 10 years. With its unusual day and date display on open rings, it has already won three prestigious design awards, i.e., the Red Dot, the German Design, and the Good Design Award.
Apart from the variants in the two MeisterSinger signature colors, sunburst blue and ivory, last year the first 365 variant added a nostalgic touch to the range.
MeisterSinger is now expanding the popular 365 series to include a second color variant that combines the historical charm of the model with contemporary colors.
In a 365 style
With its decorative lettering, delicate texture, and specially designed single hand, the Pangaea Day Date 365 is reminiscent of an era in which time passed in a more leisurely manner. The open rings that show the date and the weekday create an impression of spatial depth and lend the design a harmonious balance. The current date and day of the week are clearly displayed just below the 12 o’clock position. The gray dial has been given a fine, sunburst finish. Soft, orange touches create some lively highlights. The watch is fitted with a soft cowhide strap in dark brown with contrasting white stitching.
Among the various strap options, there is also an eye-catching yellow vintage leather strap.
Driven by perfection
MeisterSinger has quite deliberately dispensed with the second and third hands – but the high-precision Swiss Sellita SW220 automatic movement, specially modified for MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches, is quietly at work on the inside. The rotor provides the watch with a power reserve of 38 hours. The movement can be easily viewed through the sixfold screwed glass exhibition back as it performs its high-precision task.
