MeisterSinger x Alain Silberstein Kaenos Grande Date & Open Date

Just in time for the Watches and Wonders Geneva event, the single-hand watch specialist MeisterSinger presents two outstanding edition watches created in collaboration with the renowned watch designer Alain Silberstein. The cooperation unites two unmistakable design languages in a harmonious whole and goes hand in hand with the launch of MeisterSinger’s new Kaenos series watch.

MeisterSinger goes back to the future

For almost 25 years, MeisterSinger and company founder Manfred Brassler have been synonymous with distinctive single-hand watches. Reduced to the essentials, a MeisterSinger watch shows how much power lies in simplicity. It displays the time with just one single hour hand. And, like the first mechanical clocks of the late Middle Ages, it literally points to that precise moment in time. With its clear design language, the MeisterSinger brand has made a name for itself internationally. Over 35 awards presented by the most prestigious design panels impressively underline MeisterSinger’s excellent design expertise.

Renaissance of Bauhaus design in Alain Silberstein style

The renowned French watch designer Alain Silberstein is well-known for his very different but equally unmistakable style. His work is characterized by bold colors, geometric shapes, and playful elements that set him apart from the often traditional and understated designs commonly seen in the industry. Silberstein’s eponymous brand, which he managed for several decades, made him an iconic figure in the world of haute horlogerie.

So what happens when two strong and supposedly opposing views of design collide with each other?

An extraordinary partnership: the MeisterSinger X Alain Silberstein editions

Manfred Brassler, founder, designer, and managing director of MeisterSinger, explains: “It is a real pleasure to meet such a creative spirit, with whom the subjects of design and watch technology automatically dominate the conversation. We both share the fascination of creating something that is unique and timeless. As much as our design languages differ, we both love coherent concepts and compelling designs. All the more exciting was the question of what Alain’s interpretation of a Kaenos – the brand new MeisterSinger steel watch with its integrated metal strap – would look like. I was immediately impressed by the results! Just see for yourself.”

Silberstein adds: “For me, designing a watch begins with a story that is looking to be told on the dial. The combination of the characteristic MeisterSinger design language and my creative elements came naturally to me. I drew my inspiration from the new Kaenos case, which, with its powerful design, provided a framework for this very story.”

Editions with Grand Date and Open Date, limited to 225 pieces each

The results of the collaboration are two exceptional edition watches presented in a completely redesigned 40-mm case with an integrated stainless steel bracelet.

The jet black dials provide the perfect background for highlighting design details. You can sense that each one has been chosen with care, and the result is an image that is typical of both Silberstein and MeisterSinger.

Silberstein explains: “I have deliberately retained the clear, straightforward design language typical of MeisterSinger. Instead of making radical changes, it is the host of small details that contribute to my creative expression, preserving the typical MeisterSinger aesthetic, but giving it my own playful, lively touch.”

Silberstein has not reinvented the MeisterSinger needle-shaped single hand, but interpreted it powerfully and strikingly in a typical Silberstein red. The spectacular hour hand has thus become a dominant and expressive design element. Unlike MeisterSinger, Silberstein has added a delicate golden second hand. And yes, it brings life to the dial and gives a hint of the mechanical inner workings of the watch with its typical smooth movement.

Golden features are manifested throughout the design and add highlights, such as the applied hour markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. In the fine 5-minute line hierarchy, Silberstein has replaced the quarter-hour markers with fine dots. The MeisterSinger logo is applied in a silver-colored, three-dimensional look. A golden, recessed inner circle on the Grand Date and the framed, rectangular date window at 6 o’clock are outstanding additional features. In the Open Date version, the date ring is completely exposed, giving the dial both structure and depth. The current date can be read below the 12 o’clock position.

As Silberstein leaves nothing to chance, the rotor visible through the glass exhibition back was designed to match the colored elements of the dial in black and gold.

Both edition watches are limited to 225 pieces and most definitely wanderers between two worlds. Unmistakably MeisterSinger and at the same time with the inimitable signature of the old master Alain Silberstein. Magnificent collector’s items for friends of the extraordinary and people who love both: exceptional design and watches that, like their wearers, just want to be themselves.

The specially designed packaging and an edition booklet round off this unique edition concept. The two edition models are strictly limited and now available either from specialist retailers or directly from MeisterSinger.

The Kaenos: a new generation of MeisterSinger timepieces

The case of both the Kaenos and the two MeisterSinger X Alain Silberstein editions is the latest innovation from MeisterSinger in 2025.

The surfaces of the 40-mm case are partly polished and partly brushed, giving its body a particularly elegant and lively appearance. The integrated steel bracelet, which flows seamlessly into the case and also features both polished and brushed surfaces, offers not only stability but also maximum wearing comfort. The likewise redesigned, non-slip, easy-to-use crown bears the fermata symbol from the MeisterSinger logo, which denotes the ‘rest’ mark in musical notation. With water resistance of up to 10 bar, the Kaenos is well protected in any everyday situation.

With the new Kaenos collection model, MeisterSinger is exploring new territory in the world of its single-hand watches. The new product family has a distinctly sportier look and features everything that characterizes a true MeisterSinger, yet stands out clearly from the rest of the collection.
