NOMOS Glashütte Ahoi Atlantic

Sports watches come in all shapes and sizes. Classic watch models are a dime a dozen. But watches that compellingly unite the two are few and far between. A typical feature of NOMOS watches has always been that they can be worn to work or any social occasion, day in and day out; Ahoi Atlantic now adds the sporty aspect.

A new watch in three versions: Ahoi Atlantic, Ahoi date Atlantic, and Ahoi neomatik Atlantic from NOMOS Glashütte. All three are elegant all-rounders; 24/7 watches that also love sports and water. The difference? The caliber: Proven in-house NOMOS automatic movement, with and without date function on the left; extra-slim automatic technology—neomatik—in a slightly smaller diameter on the right.

The white typography on the Atlantic blue dial is especially clear and easy to read through the sapphire crystal glass with a blue anti-reflective coating on both sides. Ahoi Atlantic, Ahoi date Atlantic and Ahoi neomatik Atlantic are the full names of these watches. They are waterproof—up to 200 meters. While the first two are driven by the in-house DUW 5001 caliber and DUW 5101 date movement in a slightly larger case, the smaller Ahoi neomatik Atlantic runs on the new, particularly slim automatic technology from NOMOS Glashütte. All three feature a textile strap which is woven specially for NOMOS Glashütte in France. 

The hour and minute hands of the new NOMOS Ahoi Atlantic watch are filled with white Superluminova fluorescent paint. A beautiful and practical effect: Also the numbers and hour markers glow green in the dark.

The new NOMOS Ahoi Atlantic model has a robust crown guard that protects the crown against accidents. The sapphire crystal back held in place with six screws as well as the screw-down crown ensure that the case is water-resistant. 20 bar, i.e. 20 atm or 200 meters—all these specifications mean the same thing. The slender steel case with its vertical flanks is polished to a shine, providing elegant protection for the highly efficient NOMOS in-house caliber.
