Seiko - Presage Blue Enamel Limited Edition

For this new Presage model, issued in a 1500-piece limited edition, Seiko presented for the first time a blue enamel dial.

The application of high grade enamel to a watch dial presents particular difficulties. Because the surface of a watch dial is so small and as it is viewed at such close distances, the depth and evenness of the enamel has to be exact. The creation of a blue dial is even more challenging because the viscosity of blue enamel is much higher making it more difficult to achieve perfect smoothness.

The dial of the Presage Blue Enamel Limited Edition is completed by Roman numerals, classical hour and minute hands and a railroad minute track. A romantic detail comes with the crescent shaped tip of the seconds hand: gold colour powder gives it a special texture resembling the moon’s surface.

The 40.5 mm stainless steel case features a large crown with deep indents to let the wearer easily wind the watch and enjoy the powerful torque of the automatic Calibre 6R15, visible through the see-through case back.

Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offering 50 hours of power reserve, this movement guarantees resistance to magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m.

Water resistant to 10 bar and individually numbered, the Seiko Presage Blue Enamel Limited Edition (ref. SPB069J1) has a price of US$ 1,100. seiko-presage.com
