Speake Marin Resilience Titanium & Gold

Speake Marin expands its Piccadilly collection with the new Resilience Titanium and Resilience Gold, now equipped with an in-house calibre. The enchanting enamel dial remains the undisputed star, upgraded with the iconic small seconds at 1:30.

The Resilience Collection

Among the many Speake Marin collections, the Resilience line is the most classic in style. Exuding pure elegance, it features the famous round Piccadilly case that marks the brand’s origins. Recently revamped by renowned designer Eric Giroud, its shape is now more fluid and harmonious; it retains the traditional screw-in lugs and houses a clean white enamel dial with a highly refined style.

There are many enamel dials that have embellished past masterpieces of Haute Horlogerie, and today, hundreds of years later, they remain as beautiful and perfect as the day they were created, because enamel remains unchanged over time. Speake Marin’s creations could not be without a timepiece of timeless elegance, to be passed on to future generations while keeping its original fine craftmanship.

Since its creation, the Resilience line has been produced in various versions. In 2025, two new editions are introduced: one with a 18K 5N red gold case and one with a grade 5 titanium case, preserving, of course, the traditional enamel dial. An undisputed signature of the collection. While remaining faithful to the DNA of the brand and the origins of the model, these new iterations have been updated with fresh aesthetics and improved mechanical performance thanks to the in-house automatic calibre SMA03 with integrated micro-rotor.

Creative Inspiration

Resilience Titanium is undoubtedly an exquisite classy watch in perfect Bristish style, perpetuating the brand’s English heritage. With its harmonious round case and pure, sober white enamel dial, this creation is an understated dress-watch with a chic and refined look aimed at connoisseurs looking for timepieces with a timeless style. An instrument of time with a sophisticated appearance, never excessive or ostentatious; on the contrary, it underlines an absolutely discreet personality. In short, it is the very essence of the “British style”.

For formal and important occasions, for business or for a gala evening, the Resilience Titanium is the ideal watch to complement your chosen outfit. As with a bespoke suit, the high quality of this latest addition comes from the simple, well-thought-out details that can only be successfully expressed by highly skilled and qualified craftsmen in the practice of their art.

The Piccadilly Case

Resilience Titanium keeps its iconic round Piccadilly case, revamped in 2017 by designer Eric Giroud. Crafted from polished grade 5 titanium, an extremely light yet highly corrosion resistant material, it’s available in 38 and 42 mm in diameter. Two sizes that are suitable for the widest audience. Water-resistant to 3 atm, it distinguishes itself for the soft and graceful lines, the shorter screw-in lugs than the original shape from the past, the distinctive fluted and flared crown with the Maison’s logo, for easy grip when winding the movement and setting the time. The domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial. On the rear, the see-though porthole reveals the exquisitely decorated calibre.

Resilience Titanium is complemented by a light blue Saffiano leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching. A high-quality material with a special weave of diagonally crossed stripes that makes the calf leather more resistant to wear and tear, as well as giving it an aesthetically pleasing appearance. It is fastened to the wrist with a personalised titanium folding buckle.

Enamelling Embellishes the Resilience Dial: A Timeless Art That is Always Up-to-date

Resilience line features a gorgeous white Grand Feu enamel dial. A timeless art mastered by very few craftsmen, enamelling defies the concept of eternity in fine watchmaking thanks to its resistance to wear and corrosion, keeping it unchanged over time. Enamel is a vitreous material composed of silica, sodium or potassium carbonate and metal oxides. For this latest creation, Speake Marin uses Japanese white enamel, considered the most appreciated for its superior quality.

Enamelling is a technique that requires long processing times and considerable expertise to achieve a perfectly even surface.

For the display of the new Resilience, the Geneva-based company has selected a plate made of Inconel, a nickel and chromium-based alloy that withstands high temperatures and therefore does not deform. In a process known as dry enamelling, this plate is micro-beaded to make it more porous and allow the first layer of enamel powder, applied by sieving, to fix and melt better. The plate is then placed in an oven at a temperature of approximately 800 degrees Celsius for about 5 minutes per layer of enamel. To achieve the desired final result, this process is repeated no less than 5 times, taking into account the drying time of each layer. During this operation, each layer fuses with the previous one to form a uniform and smooth surface, which is then hand-polished to achieve a perfect white mirror finish.

The aesthetics of the dial, extremely clean in the purest British style, preserves the heritage of the existing collections, but with a more contemporary twist: for the first time on this model, the iconic small seconds at 1:30, the indisputable signature of the brand’s horological masterpieces, has been added. The oversized Roman numerals and flame-blued steel hands ensure optimal time reading. Always attentive to the smallest detail, Speake Marin has kept the blued central screw. Functional in the previous collections, securing the dial to the movement, it now has only stylistic value and a sentimental link to Resilience’s origins.

The In-House Manufacture Calibre SMA03

Resilience line, time-only in its functions with small seconds at the unconventional but iconic position at 1:30, is powered by the in-house SMA03 automatic calibre. This movement with fully integrated micro-rotor, which allows the case thickness to be reduced, was entirely designed and assembled at “Le Cercle des Horlogers” in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Speake Marin’s in-house workshop. Comprising 147 components and with a balance wheel that beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it provides a 52-hour power reserve when the watch is not worn.

In keeping with the traditional horological art, nothing is left to chance and the exquisite finishes can be admired on the rear thanks to the anti-reflective sapphire crystal porthole. The black rhodium-plated main plate is decorated with the circular graining motif on both sides. The bridges are also rhodium-plated in black and have bevelled profiles that have been polished using the anglage technique and boast a fine 1.5 mm Côtes de Genève finish.

The microbeaded sun-brushed oscillating weight is always an eye-catcher. It is surmounted by the familiar gold-plated and mirror-polished topping tool, which echoes the brand logo. Last but not least, the engraved inscriptions in 5N red gold and the visible jewels add a touch of colour to the ensemble.

The end result achieved by the master watchmakers and designers of the Manufacture makes Resilience Titanium the perfect companion for those wishing to distinguish themselves from the crowds, while remaining discreet.
