Ulysse Nardin - Marine Torpilleur Military

Ulysse Nardin released the Marine Torpilleur Military chronometer, a bolder and more imposing version of its Marine Torpilleur model.

Inspired to the pocket chronometers used by the sea captains of 19th or beginning of the 20th century, the new model features the same Ulysse Nardin UN-118 in-house movement beating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph) and equipped with the proprietary Silicium anchor escapement. Its performances as a chronometer are certified by Ulysse Nardin and by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

The Marine Torpilleur Military comes in two variation: one with an eggshell white dial with outlined Arabic numerals and a tan leather strap, the other in black, with orange Arabic numerals, Super-LumiNova-coated hands and a black strap with orange stitching.

Both editions boast a 44 mm case with a steel sand-blasted finish and an oversized crown. Water-resistant to 50 meters / 165 feet, it is stamped on the back with the distinctive Torpilleur which gives the name to the model.

Inside the small seconds sundial at 6 o’clock, a red serial number shows the numbering of the timepiece as one of only 300 in a limited edition.

The initials C.W. stand for Chronometer Watch, referencing the military models of the past, whose design followed the strict codes of the armed forces.
