Union Glashütte 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition Chronograph

UNION GLASHÜTTE celebrates 130 years and looks back on a great tradition. Despite powerful innovations over the years, the brand has retained its core value: since the beginning in 1893, UNION GLASHÜTTE has been producing watches which are famous for their quality, but whose price is still affordable. To mark its 130th anniversary, the brand presents a special edition limited to 300 pieces. 

The 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition Chronograph pays homage to the extremely rarely produced pocket watch chronographs of past times. It is powered by a hand-wound movement with a recoilless regulating system, which was developed especially for this occassion combined with a silicon balance spring.

The template for this watch is a unique pocket watch from the 20s, which is again in the possession of the brand. The dial of the pocket watch has been faithfully transferred to the wristwatch with attention to detail. The main face is a silver line-ground, while the totalizers are round-brushed.

The numbers have been completely reconstructed from the original, as well as the hands. A date display is located at 6 o'clock, which gives the watch a modern touch. The chronographs show 60 seconds and 30 minutes. The dial is under a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides.

The extended movement UNG-59.S1 without hour counter, but with silicon hairspring can be admired through a sapphire crystal on the back. This is an absolute powerhouse "Made in Germany" built according to the Glashütte rule. The watch has a power reserve of up to 60 hours. With its overall diameter of 42mm it gives the appearance of an elegant dress watch. A blue leather strap completes the design of the watch.
