Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar “Excellence Platine"

The house of Vacheron Constantin has just announced the launch of a new addition to the Excellence Platine Collection. As a preview of the SIHH 2018, the famous Swiss watchmaker introduces the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar "Excellence Platine", an exquisite new triple calendar entirely executed in platinum. 

The emblematic complication from the 1940’s was brought back at center stage with the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942 / 1948, two vintage-inspired timepieces that were launched earlier this year. The elegant and practical complete calendar is now integrated into the new Excellence Platine model, adopting the understated elegance of the Traditionnelle range.

The classical display of the Traditionnelle Complete Calendar indicates three main pieces of calendar information: a day of the week, date of the month and month. In addition, there is a platinum moon disc, shown at the classical 6 o’clock position. A date is displayed on the periphery of the dial, and pointed by a blued hand.

The new Traditionnelle watch features a 41mm x 10.77mm polished and is entirely made in platinum right the way through to the stitching of its strap. The aesthetic codes of the Traditionnelle collection are clearly visible, from an “Etagé” case and lugs, a fluted case-back, a railway-type minute track, Dauphine-type hours and minutes hands, as well as “bâtons de Genève” hour-markers.

 The watch is powered by the self-winding caliber 2460, which is entirely developed in-house and stamped with the Poinçon de Genève. The movement is made of 308 components, 27 jewels, it beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph and provides at least 40 hours of power reserve. The 2460 QCL is equipped with a 22-karat gold oscillating weight and revealed through the sapphire case-back.

The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Excellence Platine 4010T in platinum is available in a limited edition of 100 pieces, and retails for $68,500.
