W&W 2022 Patek Philippe Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5374/300P

Patek Philippe reinterprets the design of the Ref. 5374 Grand Complication with minute repeater and perpetual calendar in a Haute Joaillerie version. The platinum case and bezel are paved with baguette-cut diamonds. The flange with baguette-cut diamond minute markers and baguette-cut blue sapphire hour markers forms an "amphitheatre" around the blue-lacquered dial. 

Representing an alliance of two much sought-after major horological complications, Reference 5374 was first presented 2016 in a platinum case framing a black Grand Feu enamel dial. This watch gave way in 2021 to a new version in white gold with a blue enamel dial. Patek Philippe brilliantly reinterprets this refined design in a virtuoso Haute Joaillerie version.

The subtly curved platinum case is paved with baguette-cut diamonds tracing a luminous geometrical pattern around the caseband, minute repeater slide and sloping lugs. The concave bezel is adorned with a double row of baguette-cut diamonds specifically cut to form a perfect circle.

The bezel’s integrated flange is also set with baguette-cut diamond minute markers punctuated by baguette-cut blue sapphire hour markers. This original design forms an “amphitheater” around the dial and creates a spectacular depth effect.

The visual balance of the perpetual calendar indications standing out against the blue-lacquered background with black-gradient rim is thus particularly highlighted. Meticulous details include day/24-hour subdials at 9 o’clock and month/leap-year subdials at 3 o’clock finely snailed in a circular pattern, with recessed borders revealing the white gold dial plate. The white gold leaf-shaped hands with luminescent coating enhance legibility.

Self-winding R 27 Q caliber features a minute repeater chiming on two “cathedral” gongs wrapped almost twice around the movement and producing a deep, intense and rich sound. A sapphire crystal case back – interchangeable with a solid platinum case back – offers a view of the hand-finished movement with its guilloched 22K gold minirotor.

The new Reference 5374/300P-001 is fitted with a shiny dusk blue alligator leather strap matching the dial, secured by a platinum fold-over clasp set with baguette-cut diamonds. It joins the existing Reference 5374G-001 in white gold with blue enamel dial.
