Zenith - Chronomaster El Primero Full Open

Thanks to an entirely open-worked dial, the new Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Full Open provides an unobstructed view of the legendary fast-beating mechanism.

With this new addition, the Chronomaster collection offers the automatic El Primero chronograph in three different dial versions: with an entirely closed dial, half-open (Open), and now entirely open (Full Open).

The complete opening enables the wearer to observe the high frequency of this column-wheel chronograph movement, offering an autonomy of more than 50 hours and beating at the swift pace of 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) and thus capable of measuring and displaying the time with tenth-of-a-second precision.

Available in two - 38 mm and 42 mm - diameters, in steel or a two-tone version with steel topped by an 18K pink gold bezel, the new Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Full Open maintains a few nods to the historical version of the El Primero 1969.

The date window of the 38mm version has been placed between 4 and 5 o’clock just like the original; and the blue colour is perfectly identical to the historical version. Combined with the two other colours, anthracite and rhodium, the three galvanic tones are used to enhance the look of the movement.

The chronograph counters are positioned at 3 o’clock (30-minute) and 6 o’clock (12-hour) while the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock allows the wearer to verify the continuous operation of the movement. A silver-toned inner bezel ring, a black and white minute circle, together with faceted luminescent hands, combine to ensure optimal legibility.

The case-back is open with a sapphire crystal to reveal the modern movement architecture and its oscillating weight adorned with “Côtes de Genève” motif. Water-resistance is 100 metres / 330 feet.

The retail prices of the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Full Open equipped with a black or brown alligator leather strap are Euro 9,600 for Ref. 03.2153.400/78.C813 (38 mm, steel) and Ref. 03.2081.400/78.C813 (42 mm, steel), Euro 10,600 for Ref. 51.2151.400/78.C810 (38mm, steel with 18K pink gold bezel) and Euro 11,200 for Ref. 51.2081.400/78.C810 (42mm, steel and 18K pink gold bezel). The new models can also be matched to a steel bracelet. zenith-watches.com
