Konstantin Chaykin Stargazer at Dubai Watch Week

The Stargazer watch created by Konstantin Chaykin for the auction Only Watch 2023 will be on display for visitors to Dubai Watch Week. Despite the cancellation of the world tour by the charity auction, Konstantin Chaykin will still be showcasing his watch to guests of the expo at his stand. The exhibition will be held from November 16 to 20, 2023 at The Gate complex within the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).

Konstantin Chaykin is an independent watchmaker from Russia, as well as a member of the Academy of Independent Creators in Watchmaking (AHCI). He founded his own manufactory in 2003, rolling out a clock with a tourbillon, the first of its kind in modern Russia at the time. Chaykin is one of the most active and industrious inventors in watchmaking, with many patents to his name. For his achievements, the master has been awarded the Gold Medal from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). A series of four computus clocks that calculate the date of Orthodox Easter, including the Moscow Computus Clock with 27 complications and a movement possessing 2,506 parts, are part of his illustrious catalog. This is one of the most complicated desktop clocks in the world. The anthropomorphic dial model, the Joker, was released in 2017 and instantly gained widespread popularity among watchmaking connoisseurs. It also marked the beginning of the Wristmons (wrist monster) collection, that is, watches with a face-like dial.

Stargazer is but the latest hero in the Wristmons collection. The watch was created by Konstantin Chaykin in 2023 for the charity auction Only Watch. The master's focus on this watch was the idea of creating the most complicated movement with a multitude of complications. "This year marks the 20th anniversary of the manufactory's founding and it was important for me to sum up a kind of result by combining three main impulses behind my creativity: ultra-complicated watch mechanics, anthropomorphic design, and the theme of space exploration," the master said.

The result is the most complicated wristwatch ever created by Konstantin Chaykin and one of the most complicated in the world, with 11 of Stargazer's 17 functions being astronomical. The master used both sides of the watch, creating two anthropomorphic dials to harmoniously distribute its indicators.

The watch was the most complicated among all of the lots on offer at Only Watch 2023. Despite the cancellation of the world tour by the charity auction, in which the watch was to hold pride of place (including in Dubai), connoisseurs of fine watchmaking will still be able to get a first-hand look. Konstantin Chaykin will be putting it up for display for guests to the Dubai Watch Week exhibition.

Established in 2015, this international forum has become one of the globe's premiere watch events. DWW gathers together participants and guests every two years. The biennial event will be held from November 16-20, 2023. Fifty-six participants, including leading watch manufacturers and independent watchmakers from across the globe, will be presenting their bestsellers and latest innovations at DWW.

The Konstantin Chaykin booth will be located in the Brand Exhibition section, number S4. To schedule a visit or interview with the master, please send a request to pressoffice@chaykin.ru
