Sinn Spezialuhren is supporting the 1. Röhrl Classic

A state with spectacular countryside becomes the setting for the 1. Röhrl Classic. From 1st to 3rd September 2022, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg will be the stage for a unique exhibition event featuring 111 historic Porsche sports cars. Sinn Spezialuhren from Frankfurt am Main is supporting the event and will be on site to present the legendary Reile-Porsche 911 RSR.

A shared history

Walter Röhrl and this race car will be forever linked. The former world champion and ‘greatest rally driver of all time’ acts as a namesake, patron and active driver. The man behind the idea, and the organiser of the event, is five-time rally world champion Peter Göbel with his agency Plusrallye. Sinn Spezialuhren shares a common history with both people. In 2009, Röhrl and Göbel won the historic rally Costa Brava in the same yellow Reile Porsche 911 RSR. During this race, they both wore the rally chronograph 917 GR, which is no longer available today – a watch for which Peter Göbel used his considerable expertise to provide some constructive ideas for the case and dial during the development stage. As the 1. Röhrl Classic will take the form of a rally, Sinn Spezialuhren will have a stand in the market square in Göhren-Lebbin on all three race days. Watch lovers will not only have the chance to take a look at high-quality mechanical timepieces here, but can also marvel at the 2009 Reile Porsche.

Historic vehicles and mechanical watches

Rally fever has also gripped Sinn Spezialuhren in the past, including as an active participant and partner in the Sauerland Classic event organised by Peter Göbel. Historic vehicles and mechanical watches are a great match, and not just on race days. Both embody timeless, classic values and send a clear signal against today’s throw-away mentality. Both spark people’s passion for mechanical principles – and both are synonymous with quality and aesthetic elegance. They are cultural assets and cultural works, status symbols and unique works of art.

111 teams on the start line

The 1. Röhrl classic is a vintage rally for classic Porsche sports car. It is not a rally in the traditional sense, but an orientation drive, or regularity rally, obeying road traffic laws. Only air-cooled and transaxle Porsche are allowed to enter inaugural event. Marking the 111th anniversary of the organiser Delius Klasing Verlag from Bielefeld, 111 teams will line up in the event. The special stage event covers more than 780 kilometres, spread across six stages spanning two and a half days of driving, and will take the drivers throughout the entire state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and on the last day also to Brandenburg. The central point of the event is the picturesque Fleesensee in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Schloss Hotel Fleesensee, located in the tranquil town of Göhren-Lebbin, will serve as the start and finish point for the rally.
