This unique piece combines a poetic approach to watchmaking with incredible handcrafts for a timepiece unlike any other.

For its first ever collaboration, Biver has partnered with Swiss artist Guillaume Ehinger to create a unique Automatique that will be auctioned in December as part of the Swiss Institute’s TimeForArt auction, the only watch auction that directly supports contemporary art around the world.

Combining a rich green mother-of-pearl dial with two precious gemstones, Maison Biver takes the highly technical Carillon Tourbillon and imbues it with a vibrant aesthetic that can only be achieved through expert hand craftsmanship and an artistic disposition.

Pared down to its most basic functions, a wristwatch tells the time. The Biver Automatique has three central hands and shows the hours, minutes, and seconds. Nothing more, nothing less. This simplicity is deceptive, though.

The last ten pieces of the initial fifty-piece series of the Biver Carillon Tourbillon Minute Repeater explore new realms of elegance. In closing the first major chapter of its history, and before the curtain rises on a new timepiece next September, the young independent Maison honors the art of dial making with guilloché watch faces in Mother-of-Pearl and Black Obsidian.
